about Chinese recalls, and dangerous, tainted, or defective products

Certainly there has been a lot of news coverage of recalls of products made in China, and Chinese products that are poisonous, or contain dangerous lead. But, of course, when we import about $300 billion per year, it's not surprising that there are some problems.

Two of the questions that come to mind:

  • Are the number of problems in proportion to the volume of imports, as compared to problems with domestic production?
  • What about the type of problem. After all, poison in your toothpaste is pretty darned serious!

We have some articles archived here so that everybody can form their own opinion.
